FFXIStyle & FFXICartography

Sorry for the little wait,I didn't have much time lately but I'm finally done. Well, almost done because there's still one thing. It seems I can't connect Aikar's FTP for now so I'll temporarily host the files on MegaUpload, I will update this entry when everything comes back to normal.

Please note that it is NOT available for FFXIUIMod Installer at this time.

When you have an issue, please tell me what is your POL language and if you're using widescreen or not ! This can help me to understand what is your problem or locate where I did something wrong in some cases. Screenshots are also a nice idea to illustrate your issue.

But keep in mind that I will not be able to resolve all of the user errors.

I heard there was a FFXI update today. No UI update, FFXIStyle v1.13a would have worked fine, only the new JA icons would have been missing, I guess. I only did a small update to include them.

It is also available for FFXIUIMod Installer, so you can update if you want.

Here's a small update of the 1.13 version. I just added a few icons and modified Building Flourish icon because the official icon of Saber Dance was almost the same as my edit.

Hello everyone ^^

Today, I would like to present you an installer Aikar, from Windower.net, made.

This installer will allow you to use FFXIStyle (along with other mods) without switching your DATs manually ! You will even be able to uninstall it causing it to restore the default UI back.

To install FFXIStyle :

1. Download FFXiUIMod Installer here : http://ffxi.us.to/FFXiUIMod.exe
If you have any problem please report here : http://forums.windower.net/index.php?showtopic=14680

2. After reading the license agreement carefully, you'll be taken to the Mod installation screen.

3. Choose your resolution, Standard or Widescreen (actually FFXIStyle is done for 16:10 not 16:9 as it says but well doesn't really matter, it's widescreen anyway)

4. Choose "FFXIStyle 1" for the UI. (You can also choose FFXIStyle + Tetra Master Cursor done by Icehunter if you like this cursor more. :) preview screenshot)

5. Choose "FFXIStyle 1" for the Icon Set or "FFXIStyle 2" if you want the custom Utsusemi Icon :

6. Choose any other mods you want and you'll be taken to the background selection which will replace your first background in your options.

7. Choose the one you like or skip this screen if you don't need any.

8. The installer download the files you've chosen and your done ! :)

To uninstall you just have to do the same but choose "FFXI Default". Be careful after an FFXI update, the files used for restoration may have not been updated yet.

For now, I think I will still provide an archived version of FFXIStyle. But since FaServers is going to shut down, I'll only use Filefront now. EDIT : I just discovered that Filefront deleted my FFXICartography archives, since Aikar provided me a new host, I'll use that one instead, thanks to him ^^.

Keep in mind, this installer is only for FFXIStyle, FFXICartography still need to be manually downloaded and installed. ^^

Did I forget something ? Well, I'll edit if I did. :)

Just updated it to contain the new Merit JA icons and descriptions for SCH and DNC.

About the "new" arrow from and , I would like to know if there's no issue with it because I couldn't tested it since I'm not playing anymore. You can consider it working if you see the usual modded cursor but smaller.

I also made backup files a separate archive, because many people weren't using them so it was making FFXIStyle bigger for nothing.

As expected the update added the new synchronisation icons in both UI and Icons files. New icons were also added for Aftermath and Footwork so the modded Footwork icon is not present anymore even if I don't really like the official one.

I'm still at work so I didn't test FFXIStyle myself this time, but you can get it earlier and I'm sure I can count on you to warn me if there's anything wrong. ^^'

I just wanted to warn you that I'm already working on the update for FFXIStyle, it's already late here in France and I have to go to bed so it should be out tomorrow. :)

And please don't use FFXIStyle v1.10 because strange behaviors will occur when using new things.

Please note that I also left FFXI in july but I will keep updating my mods because I still like doing it. ^^

But even if July is not far I uploaded the files on Filefront to keep them available : (link and files removed).

I always was doubtful about making a widescreen because there were not only advantages, but since I seemed to be the only to care about it, maybe it's better to do it.

I also did another version of FFXIStyle because player icons (especially Linkshell pearls) were less beautiful in the past release so I had to fix that. I also added an icon for Overdrive which was the only two hours ability missing one...

The update just added the new button for the auto-sorting function and some new icons/escriptions for the new JAs/Spells so I updated the DATs to contain these changes. Also :

- Fixed Enspells icons to make the sword a bit more visible.

- Reduced the relief effect from item slots to be nicer. (Thanks to Starhawk for the suggestion)

Just a simple note to say that Aikar bumped the bandwidth for ffxistyle.faservers.net so you can now download from there again. ^^

(Links from Filefront have been removed)

Since FFXICartography has been released, the bandwidth started to suffer dramatically, there was about 1.7 GB downloaded per day.

Until I find a solution to this (or not lol) you can still download FFXIStyle and FFXICartography from filefront. ^^

FFXICartography is the updated version of Brandson's Map Pack since some people seemed to be missing it. I added WotG maps and updated some Assault and Salvage maps. ^^

To anyone not knowing what it is about, this pack is just a DAT modification of many of FFXI maps to display more information like on FFXI Atlas.

Note that there's no backup files in this pack so don't forget to do your personal backup before applying this. :)

If there's any problem about some not working or incorrect maps, please let me know it but remember that is just a conversion to DAT from FFXI Atlas and Sean Maps Pack so I will rarely add information by myself on them. :)

No more slow downloads for you. ^^

Only three things :

- The japanese modded files have been added
- An english readme.txt is now present
- Re-added the right and modded Terror icon that was incorrect in the last update. (Thanks to Travis for pointing this)

To people still wondering what FFXIStyle is about.

Actually, FFXIStyle is very similar to Brandson's UI Mod since it is more an update from it than a new pack. So all the Faranim Brd icons and everything you like is in. The more noticeable differences are that the modded Utsusemi icon is not on the main file and Enspells are a bit different, eveything else should be familiar to you.

Previous versions were personal since I was only sharing them with my friends. I was just doing them because I wanted to be able to do this by myself and not be relying on Brandson each update but I really admire his and Faranim's work because I'm completly lost with official icons.

I'm planning on adding an english "read me" in the file (You surely have noticed that english is not my native language) because I'm sure some people prefer to not have to translate by themselves.

I will also try to add modded icons for abilities that don't have dedicated ones for the time being, because I really can't stand these ugly Sword and Shield "UP" icons. So if you have some ideas and suggestions for this, they're welcome, I'll see what I can do. :)

And of course many thanks to Brandson for allowing me to continue his work ! ^^

So SE decided to revert icons again... Well not really, actually.

The only thing that changed today was the description of Manifestation and Accession because the MP Cost is now doubled and not tripled again, so 1.08 is not really broken.

But I decided to add customized icons for DNC and SCH Rolls :

Ok,

I added the following files :

ROM\119\57 (Custom Utsusemi Icon).DAT => NA / UK
ROM\176\107 (Custom Utsusemi Icon).DAT => DE
ROM\178\46 (Custom Utsusemi Icon).DAT => FR

This was done for the people who prefered the famous Utsusemi Icon added long ago in Brandson's Icons and inspired from the Secret of Mana Series : .

So don't forget to rename the file depending on your FFXI version with the proper name (57.DAT, 107.DAT or 46.DAT) if you want that icon instead of the official one. ^^
